As expected, the leaks and rumors regarding the latest technologies found in the newest iPhones, expected to be announced on Sept. 10, are increasing.
Most of the popular technology websites, including CNET and articles on Yahoo!, have all but confirmed Apple’s plans to introduce an iPhone 5s and an iPhone 5c. Not only are the announcements extremely anticipated within the technology community, but also the specifications on the devices.
Some bloggers believe that Apple’s iPhone has fallen behind its Android competitors in capabilities and giving user the best bang for their buck.
However, all of that should change.
The iPhone 5s is expected to feature a fingerprint scanner, faster processor, better cameras and photo capabilities and a host of other upgrades.
Perhaps the most intriguing is the possibility of a new color. Leaked photos have shown the iPhone 5s being featured in a new gold color, and some parts have also been seen in a charcoal gray color. This would take a step in a new direction from the typical white and black options.
Also highly anticipated is the iPhone 5c.
Apple has a track record of only offering one version of its iPhone and at one price. Some experts believe that this may have harmed them in the past, as the typical iPhone retails for more than $500 brand new.
The iPhone 5c is expected to feature a lot of the current technologies implemented in the iPhone 5, with the most noticeable change being the rear case. The rear shell is expected to be made of plastic and be featured in a number of different color options.
Because there aren’t many differences in the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s, some analysts expect the device to debut in the $300-400 price range at retail. This would allow a broader range of customers to gain access to Apple’s iPhone and help increase the company’s foothold in the smartphone world.
